Trends come and go but one thing is for sure: thick eyebrows are in and they’re here to stay – and for a good reason. A well-groomed brow helps to shape the face and creates a natural appearance. However, not all are all blessed with thick, luscious brows. Some of us have thin or sparse eyebrows and are always looking for ways to make them thicker. It may seem tricky, but it’s way easier than you’d think. Read on to find out how to make eyebrows thicker and fill them in naturally.

While no two brows are the same, most can be categorized into one of five categories. They can be S-shaped, hard-angled, soft-angled, straight or rounded. As a general rule, the most flattering shape for you will be the one that works best with your facial features.
Thin vs Thick Eyebrows
Just as we are all different shapes and sizes, so are our eyebrows! However, not all eyebrow shapes will suit your face. A badly shaped eyebrow that is too thick or thin or just over the top can ruin your entire look. If your eyebrows are naturally thick, it can be both a blessing and a curse. Although it might take a little work to shape your brows and keep them looking neat, you will have a naturally full appearance. On the other hand, thin eyebrows carry a somewhat softer and more feminine appearance. Though, they can sometimes look unnatural and be harder to groom. No matter which style you choose, it’s important to not deviate too much from your natural brows. After all, the perfect brow shape is the one that goes with your face.

What Eyebrow Shape Suits Me?
Most face shapes fall into one of five categories. They can either be round, square, oval, or long, and it’s best you groom your brows to suit your particular shape. After all, your eyebrows add dimension to the face. If you have a round or oval face, we recommend a thicker brow with a slight arch to make your face appear longer. On the other hand, if you have a square-shaped face, you may want to try a less angled brow. Adding some roundness to their shape will soften the protruding angles in your face. If your face is elongated, you might want to try a flattened brow shape, as that horizontal trace will soften your face. A thicker brow will look more natural than a thinner shape.
Are Thick Eyebrows Attractive?
It’s safe to say that thick, bold eyebrows are pretty sexy. Celebrities like Cara Delevigne and Lily Collins have proven that there are many upsides to this trend. Bold & well-groomed eyebrows work to frame your face and really accentuate your features. Plus, you have so much to work with and can easily get them into your preferred style with some plucking.
Thick Bushy Eyebrow Trend
Forget pencil-thin eyebrows. Now, it’s all about super thick eyebrows. Our bold brow obsession started with Cara Delevingne and took off from there. Strong and bold brows look great on just about any face and give an exotic and mysterious look. And while many have tried to predict when this trend will go out of style, it’s clear that thick brows aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
How to Pick The Right Eyebrow Color
Selecting the right brow pencil can be tricky. It’s not just about matching your hair, but also your eye color and skin tone. Your perfect shade can vary depending on how much brow hair you have. If you have a lot, we recommend trying to match the color as closely as possible. On the other hand, if you have sparse brows, we think it’s best for dark-haired women to go one or two shades lighter than their hair color. As for light-haired ladies, we recommend you go two shades darker than the color of the hair on your head.
How To Achieve The Perfect Eyebrow Shape
Before you try to fill in your brows, ensure you map out the shape perfectly. Here are a few steps on how you can achieve a perfect brow shape.
1. Determine The Starting Points
It is important to figure out and correct the shape of your brows before you start filling them in. You can do that with the help of a brow pencil. To begin with, place the pencil in a vertical line against the outermost part of your nostril. Start shaping from the place where the pencil touches your eyebrow at point A.
2. Determine The Ending Points
Similarly, you need to figure out where your brows should end. Hold the pencil diagonally from the outermost part of your nostril to your temples. The place where the pencil extends past your eye, at point C is where your eyebrows should ideally end.
Note: In both cases, if you find hair strands past the ‘line’ formed by the pencil, shave them off. If there is a gap between the ‘line’ and the actual starting/ending point of your eyebrow, you have to fill it in tactfully in order to get perfect eyebrows.
3. Get The Perfect Arch
To get the perfect arch, hold your pencil’s end vertically against your nostril. While keeping the lower end of the pencil lined up against the edge of your nostril, move the upper part to the center of the eye. The point where the pencil hits your brow line is the natural arch of your brow and will serve as the perfect outline for you to work on. This is point C as shown in the image.
Another important point to be noted is that your eyebrows are leveled. It looks most natural this way. Hold out the pencil from point A to C in a line shown as D, and make sure that it isn’t too slanted, or else you’ll end up looking like a drag queen!
How To Make Eyebrows Thicker With Makeup?
Step 1: Prepare Your Eyebrows
Always start with a clean face and make sure that you moisture well.
Comb your brows using an eyebrow comb or a clean mascara wand. Tweeze any extra hair away if required. This is an important step, for you need to know the natural shape of your brows.
Now, you can pick any of these for filling up your eyebrows—pencil, eyeshadow/powder, or brow gel—or even a combination of these. For the purpose of this tutorial, we shall be using a combination of pencil and eyeshadow. Using a pencil definitely makes this whole process practically effortless, and the powder adds polish and gives a more natural finish.
Step 2: Fill Your Eyebrows with Pencil
Start filling your eyebrow with the pencil from the mid-beginning. Your brows tend to be sparse at the beginning point, so filling them in too much looks extremely unnatural. Just go along with the natural shape of your brows and do not try to create an entirely different shape.
To fill them in, use short, gentle strokes.
Step 3: Intensify Your Eyebrows
Fill in the entire length of the eyebrow. Make sure you do not go over the top with the filling in. Just trace the natural shape of your brows, and thicken and intensify them just a little.
Step 4: Refine Them With Powder
Pencil strokes alone can look patchy, so we are going to use powder as well for the perfect finish. Use brow powder for this step. If you don’t have some in your stock, you can always use a matte eyeshadow. Don’t use a shade that is too dark. You can go for an angled brush or a smudge makeup brush to fill in your brows.
Step 5: Conceal And Perfect
To make your brows even more defined, you can use a concealer/foundation slightly lighter than your skin tone on the upper and lower brow bone for a neater look. To finish it all off, use an eyebrow gel. This will help in keeping the makeup in place and set the eyebrow hair as well.

How to Make Eyebrows Darker
For those who have lightly colored eyebrows, it can often look as though they have none at all! So what is the solution? A dark, well-shaped eyebrow can really change the way your face looks. One method to darken them is with an eyebrow tint. This can be done at home or by a professional in a salon. Another less permanent way to darken the eyebrows is through makeup products like eyeshadow, a brow pencil, powder, or a brow kit.
